How to improve your thinking ability: CREATIVE THINKING.

Proverbs 23:7; Philippians 4:8.

For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he: ………

Creative thinking is a specific thought-process which improves and maximizes the ability of the brain to generate new ideas.
Your thinking controls your life. The quality of your thinking will always determine the results you see in your life. Every known human accomplishment of repute, either of machine, technology, or ideologies, was born out of deep and qualitative thinking. We must learn to exercise and exert our brain more than we are doing at the moment.
We should tackle our personal and social-economic challenges, as solutions of many earthly and human problems are embedded in the deeper thinking ability of man. The human mind is a factory that can create and manufacture new great innovative ideas.
THE POWER OF CREATIVE THINKING.
When it comes to creativity, the good news is that significant creativity is within everyone’s reach. It is highly attainable to any one irrespective of age, social class, financial class, or whatever different category in life. It breeds happiness; efficiency; productivity; and technological advancement. Apart from this, we are able to solve the little problems that confront us daily.
1.       Bill Gate became richer by thinking deeply. When he was a teenager his, mother recalled that he spent so much time alone. Thinking gave him ideas that led to the building of the most awesome software company in the world MICROSOFT CORPORATION.
2.       There was a time when street lights were powered by kerosene. Thomas Edison started to think deeply about how to produce better light. Today, the world is a lot brighter because of Edison’s creative thinking.
3.       A janitor was disturbed greatly by dust anytime he cleaned and swept. The dust made him to cough and sneeze. He came up with an idea which brought about a workable vacuum cleaner that sucked off dust. This idea induced a company H.W.Hoover to finance it. Deep and creative thinking has brought about many inventions e.g. The refrigerator, aero plane, computer, wireless phone, internet, etc. All these have helped, in no small way, to ease the problems of man.
4.       A man preparing to host a lot of invited guests at a big wedding party in Nigeria observed that there were only a few toilets available for thousands of guests expected at the venue. His thinking brought about the idea that was to change the entire course of his life – Mobile Toilets! Today Otunba Gadaffi’s concept has made his company the only local manufacturer of mobile toilets in West Africa.
TIPS TO IMPROVING YOUR THINKING.
1.       ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS: Creative thinking starts with asking the right question. E.g. “What are the problems areas? “What is the way out? “How can I do it better? How can I solve these problems?” Please understand that, there is a solution for every problem and whatever you do, there must be a better way to do it and achieve better results. Do not settle for mediocrity…. Click here to read more about it.
2.       OPEN UP MIND TO IDEAS: The moment you set your brain thinking, you must open your mind for a “stream of ideas” to flow in. Do not make fun of ideas that comes to you; rather allow the ideas to come in.
3.       BE A QUICK CAPTURER: The next stage is called “capturing”. The main thing that distinguishes “creative” people from other people is that, the creative ones have leant ways to pay attention to and preserve some of the new ideas that occur to them. They have capturing skill. Let’s see how you can improve your capturing skill.
·         Always have a pen and pad with you – even at your bed side, in your hand bag. Great ideas can flow anytime and you write them down.
·         Watch out for certain settings and times. For example some people have greater flows of ideas when they are alone, especially in bath, on bed, or on the bus.
4.       ALWAYS ASSESS YOUR WRITTEN IDEAS: Proper analysis is needed in all the ideas you have at your disposal and the ones you have written down and eliminate those that are not applicable or relevant.
5.       FINALISE YOUR PLANS IN THE BEST OPTION POSSIBLE: Come up with the best strategy after examining the pros AND cons. I always tell people to keep on pressing forward, do not settle for less. Bring out the best method and work towards achieving your goals.
